Your Earnings, Your Way

Your investment with Aventus means you receive 100% of the net income, distributed directly to you as a shareholder. You can choose to receive these earnings as cash dividends every quarter, giving your family regular income, or you can reinvest them through our dividend reinvestment (DRIP) program and grow your investment by purchasing additional shares. If your investment is in a non-registered account, just remember that these dividends are taxed as interest income.

While we’re here to help your family grow wealth, we understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need access to your funds, you can redeem your shares with at least six months' notice, starting one year after your first investment. We process redemptions twice a year—on June 30 and December 31. In special cases, we may be able to accommodate requests in between, depending on the Fund’s position. We take care of each request in the order we receive them, making sure your family’s needs are met quickly and smoothly.

How is a MIC Regulated, and how secure is my investment?

A MIC is provincially licensed and regulated by the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA). The BCFSA is the province's regulator for the financial services sector. MICs are managed by experienced mortgage broker professionals and experienced investors. Your investment is secure against BC real estate—take a moment to reflect on how BC Real Estate has performed in the past decades. It is one of the best, most stable and secure ways to earn money. What do we actually invest in?

Like the banks, we focus on first and second mortgages for properties right here in B.C.’s Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Most of our mortgage investments are in residential properties like single-family homes, duplexes, condos, properties under construction, and residential land. We also lend on commercial properties, including retail spaces, offices, apartment buildings, mixed-use developments, and industrial sites. These are properties in your community—ones you might even pass by on your daily drive.

How do you find investments for the MIC?

We’ve partnered with Aventus Mortgage Group Inc. to expertly manage the MIC. The Director is responsible for finding and selecting the mortgage investments for the Fund, as well as overseeing and managing the mortgage portfolio with your best interests in mind. We pay a fee equal to 2% per year of the total value of the mortgages under administration for these management services.

Is there a minimum investment requirement?

Yes, there is a minimum investment requirement of $10,000 CAD.

How do I invest?

You can invest with us using your cash savings or through any registered plan (like RRSP, RRIF, TFSA, RESP, etc.).

Do you work with an Exempt Market Dealer?

Yes. Aventus Capital’s exempt market dealer is Drake Financial Ltd. Working with Drake Financial ensures compliance with laws and regulatory requirements and ensures that we stay up-to-date on the latest standards and best practices.

What information will I receive from you if I invest?

You’ll receive a quarterly statement by mail featuring key portfolio highlights. If you’d like to review the annual audited financial statements, they’re available to shareholders upon request. Our team is always available to answer any questions. We can usually be reached right away or can schedule an appointment with you within the next 24 hours
